Description

The palace, now the town hall, overlooking the central square of the town along with other buildings of high historical and architectural value that are arranged on the other sides of the square, including the church and the Theatre La Loggia.

The construction of the Town Hall is due to family Casoni, a descendant of the Cavalcanti of Florence, as evidenced by the presence of the coat of arms that is located on the floor of the Council Chamber. They, around the sixteenth century, bought the building next to the current City Hall and later decided to expand it by building the new building: there is still the door with the first building at the stairs of the Town Hall.

Between the late sixteenth and early seventeenth century, were carried out of the work of expansion and renovation with a clear characterization Venetian villa; So while retaining a narrow main facade that recalls the structure of an urban palace, inside the town hall has many details related to the tradition of the Veneto villas: the flooring in terrazzo, the ceiling beams Sansovino, in the jambs stone, the windows, the marble-effect plaster.

During the eighteenth century the Casoni sold their property and the building passed to several families, until 15 June 1902, when it became the property of the City of Cison di Valmarino.

Since the beginning of the last century, therefore, the building is used as a Town Hall. Just to conform to this requirement in 1960 are some facts ivories expansion. The municipal seat is then fully restored since 2000.
